Classify the data

The PUI Data Protection Protocol distinguishes several types of data. For each item below, choose the correct category.

Not personal data

Aggregate figures, institutional information, programme indicators. No individual can be identified.

Personal data

Any data that identifies an individual, directly or indirectly. Names, dates of birth, phone numbers, photographs. (Protocol 1.2.3)

Sensitive by nature

Personal data that is always sensitive regardless of context. Health status, ethnic origin, religion, political opinions, gender-based violence. (Protocol 1.2.4)

Sensitive by context

Data that becomes sensitive because of where and how PUI operates. In Ethiopia: ethnic affiliation in conflict areas, vehicle routes in insecure zones, locations of safe houses. (Protocol 1.2.4)
